Despite numerous multi-body simulation packages, a vehicle model to simulate vehicle handling control systems is presented here.
Control analysis and controller design for vehicle motion rely on vehicle dynamics. Based on the investigation of the vehicle model some requirements of modelling are identified. A detailed and comprehensive vehicle model is required to reproduce the behaviour of individual components of the in-wheel EV as exactly as possible. The model should provide longitudinal motion, lateral motion and yaw. The model should provide interactions between the subsystems, and allow access to the parameters. A detail and simple vehicle model was developed using SIMULINK basic blocks.
