AVL ARTE.Lab™ is an open simulation environment for the integration of real-time applications into AVL test bed systems based on AVL PUMA Open. AVL ARTE.Lab uses MATLAB® and Simulink® for modeling of engine and powertrain components and systems and other real-time applications. It consists of AVL ARTE.Lab Studio SDK, a development environment, and AVL ARTE.Lab RTE, a run-time environment for the execution of real-time models. A generic Model Parameter Editor (MPE) allowing the smooth management of the model parameters at run time is provided. AVL ARTE.Lab Explorer is an extension to visualize internal processes in models of the MATLAB and Simulink based real-time applications.
MATLAB and Simulink are used to create the model by using standard Simulink blocks. MATLAB mat files can be generated during model development to change model parameters at run-time. MathWorks Simulink Coder is used to build the real-time application which can then be executed on the AVL test bed system.
