Learn-Effective, Efficient Experimenting with MATLAB
Research shows that experimenting in teaching can support the student learning progress and foster competences. As a result, experiments are frequently used as a motivational instrument.
In this webinar we will first present some didactics aspects of experimenting. We will then show how you to efficiently create, perform and evaluate experiments with the MathWorks tool suite. We will model and analyze a dynamical system in the symbolic math realm and use conversion tools to readily create numerical, graphical, and physical models. The simulations are finally compared with the corresponding hardware experiment.
About the Presenter
Mischa Kim holds a MS in Physics from Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech. After graduating Mischa joined the faculty at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to pursue his research interests in spacecraft dynamics and controls and space systems engineering. Following a two-year stint at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) he joined MathWorks in 2012 as a Senior Technical Evangelist supporting academics in using the MathWorks tool chain in research and—in particular—in teaching.
